Our school life
Lively and open-minded

Our Phorms Primary School is characterised by its lively, diverse German-English community. From the very beginning, our native-speaking teachers provide your child with intensive support to help them quickly find their way around bilingualism and develop a high level of proficiency in both languages.

Key focuses
of our teaching

Bilingualism

Bilingual learning gives children a lifelong advantage. It not only strengthens their German and English skills, but also boosts creativity, sharpens language awareness, and encourages flexible, independent thinking.

At our school, children learn both languages naturally through the immersion method—guided by caring, native-speaking teachers. German and English are part of everyday life, making language learning playful, intuitive, and deeply rooted. By the end of primary school, they speak, discuss and count confidently in German and English.

Individual Support

Every child is unique, and that’s why we prioritise your child's individual development. With two educational specialists per class, whole school, creative teaching methods, interdisciplinary projects, and a diverse afternoon programme, we provide a space where every talent can thrive.

We support your child when they need extra help, offering targeted assistance in small groups to help them learn at their own pace. At the same time, we challenge and inspire high-achieving children to reach their full potential across various subjects. Our goal is to create a school environment that nurtures, supports, and empowers every child.

Group and Project Work

We want your child not only to acquire knowledge, but also to enjoy learning independently and discovering the world. Our teachers make the lessons lively and practical - through group and project work such as "Phorming the Future - STEMulating all senses".

Your child learns to explore topics creatively and from different perspectives, both alone and as part of a team. In this way, we not only strengthen understanding, but also curiosity, cooperation and self-confidence - for a learning experience that will leave a lasting impression.

Extensive Possibilities

At our campus, children can discover and express themselves individually and creatively. In addition to scientific activities, there is also a wide range of creative and musical opportunities available - from fashion creation to rehearsing their own songs. Our campus offers your child the opportunity to discover, contribute and develop their own individual interests and abilities.

Logical thinking

It is important to us that your child discovers and learns to use scientific techniques at an early age. With curiosity and creativity, the children observe, measure and analyse phenomena from their environment and playfully develop solutions to exciting, everyday questions. This turns science into an adventure!

Media education

Our classrooms are equipped with modern, interactive whiteboards that enable creative learning and digital research.

At the same time, we attach great importance to analogue media: the weekly visit to our lovingly equipped library is an invitation to browse. Here, the children choose a German and an English book every week - for the joy of reading and exciting food for thought.

Diverse Language Opportunities

Our multicultural primary school welcomes children from a wide variety of language backgrounds. For those who need extra support in German or English, we provide a tailored remedial programme. Our individual language lessons in German (DaZ) are designed to match your child’s current skill level, helping them confidently reach their grade-level goals.

Our DaZ teachers work closely with colleagues from the individual subjects, the support coordinator and you as parents to provide your child with the best possible support. We also have a support department for English, which can provide your child with individual support.

Built on Appreciation, Openness and Togetherness

    Team-building measures

At Phorms Berlin Süd, we value an atmosphere of respect, openness, and kindness. Our school community thrives on mutual support, where every child feels seen and heard. Through initiatives like the class council and our REACH programme – which stands for Respect, Enthusiasm, Appreciation, Collaboration, and Honesty – we encourage students to express themselves and grow in a positive environment.

We’re especially proud of our cultural diversity: over 30 nations and languages shape our daily school life. We see this as a true strength—offering children the chance to learn from one another, embrace new perspectives, and develop real-world empathy. This experience helps prepare your child for a confident, open-hearted future in a global world.

After-school care and clubs
Age-appropriate and varied activities

After-School Care

Our after-school care provides reliable support for your child. Caring and qualified professionals ensure that your child meets familiar faces and routines in a familiar environment. We build seamlessly on the school day and continue the educational concepts in the afternoon care. Your child will feel completely safe and secure.

Clubs and activities

After a day of learning and play, your child can dive into a world of new experiences through our exciting afternoon clubs. Whether they love to move, create, explore nature and technology, learn new languages or make music – there’s something here for every curious mind and joyful heart.

Our diverse programme changes daily and is full of inspiring activities. Many of our clubs – like Little Engineers, Children’s Research, Relaxation Heroes, Snack Pirates, Dodgeball, Puzzle Masters or All Senses Explorers – are lovingly run by our educational team and are free to attend with an after-school voucher until 18:00.

For even more variety, external partners offer additional options such as tennis, yoga, dance and drama classes, karate, and instrumental lessons – giving your child the chance to explore their interests, build confidence, and simply enjoy their afternoon.

House where Children do Research

As a certified “House of Little Scientists”, we place a special focus on science in our after-school care programme. We create an environment that sparks curiosity and inspires exploration. Through hands-on activities and exciting experiments, children can discover, investigate, and learn in a playful and creative way.

Holiday Care

We want your child to have fun and enjoy exciting experiences during the school holidays. Our goal is to make the vacation time both relaxing and enriching. That’s why we offer a varied holiday programme with outings, creative workshops, and hands-on activities—something new to discover every day!

Our dedicated educators are there for your child from at least 7:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., making sure each day is well-organised, safe, and full of joy. Regular after-school care is only paused for 25 days a year—during three weeks in summer, over Christmas, on bridge days, and for staff training. All dates can be found in our school calendar.

Attractive facilities for our all-day care

In our all-day care, your child has the freedom to follow their interests and enjoy an exciting, varied day. Our spacious campus—with sports fields, a green schoolyard, and well-equipped indoor areas—offers countless opportunities to play, explore, and relax. Whether it’s on the football pitch, in creative and movement rooms, the relaxation space, or the research corner – every child is sure to find their favourite spot.

Our school clothing

We believe that a person’s worth is defined by who they are, not what they wear.

Our school clothing fosters a strong sense of community and contributes to a harmonious atmosphere. A school top is worn throughout the day, helping to downplay social differences and fashion trends.

With our modern Campus Collection, which can be freely mixed and matched, there's plenty of room for individuality and personal style.

Healthy eating is important to us.

Our caterer 'leckerlogisch.' makes sure your child enjoys a tasty and nutritious meal every day. You and your child can help choose what goes on their plate, making mealtimes both personal and enjoyable. In Berlin, lunch is free up to Year 6, and for a small extra contribution, we also offer a colourful salad and fruit buffet—so even picky eaters can find something they like. A healthy snack is also provided daily, ensuring your child feels well cared for throughout the day.

Our library

Spacious, bright and bilingual

On our campus, your child will find a lovingly designed school library with a large selection of books and media in German and English - for all ages and tastes. The library is open daily and is an integral part of the timetable. Our primary school students can browse at their leisure and decide for themselves whether they want to take books home in German or English.

Active in many ways

A healthy body supports a healthy mind.

Our outdoor areas offer plenty of space for movement and fun. Two versatile sports fields are available not only for PE lessons, but also for breaks and free-time activities. They include a running track as well as areas for long jump and throwing exercises. With a variety of additional sports and exercise opportunities, we create an environment that encourages physical fitness, builds team spirit, and strengthens endurance – all while having fun.
