Admission process and registration

In our bilingual primary school, we regularly welcome new children in the first classes as well as in higher year groups. It is possible to start during the current school year if places are available.

Our admission process
in detail

Online registration

You can easily and without obligation fill out our registration form online. Once we’ve reviewed your details, we’ll get in touch to discuss the next steps with you personally. If needed, we may request additional information, certificates, or documents.

Personal introduction for Year 1

We’re looking forward to meeting your child in person! During a trial day, your child will take part in age-appropriate activities, make new friends, and get a playful first look at daily life at our school. It’s a wonderful chance for both your child and our team to see if the Phorms concept is the right fit for their learning journey.

When deciding on admissions, we consider several factors – including whether a sibling is already enrolled, transfers from other Phorms schools, language skills, and a balanced mix of girls and boys.

Admission process from Year 2

When applying for a place in a higher grade, we take time to get to know both you and your child personally. They’ll spend five days attending classes in their future year group – a great chance to settle in and experience everyday life at our school.

We’ll also meet with you during this time to learn more about your family, your hopes for your child’s education, and how we can work together to support their journey at Phorms.

Our offer to you

If we can offer your child a spot at our school, we'll notify you by email. This message will include the contract, which you can conveniently sign digitally. Once the contract is completed, we'll be happy to officially welcome you and your child to our Phorms community!

Lateral entrants are welcome.

If places are available, we are happy to organise trial days and a personal meeting with parents at short notice so that we can get to know each other. Please do not hesitate to contact us."

Registration and Costs
for our bilingual primary school

  • What is the registration process?

Registering is quick and easy—simply complete the online form on the Berlin Süd website in just 5 minutes. Once we’ve received the necessary supporting documents and confirmed space availability, the admission process begins, tailored slightly to the specific class level.

  • Administration Fee

Upon signing the school contract, an administration fee equivalent to 2.5 times the monthly school fee is required. For families with an income below €50,000, the administration fee is reduced to the amount of a single monthly fee.

  • Monthly School Fees

The annual gross income is calculated based on the positive income of both legal guardians from the calendar year before last. Negative income cannot be offset. 50,000 € or more:567 €, 80,000 € or more:603 €, 130,000 € or more:829 €.

For incomes up to €130,000 per year, proof must be provided through the income tax assessment notice or provisional documentation, such as an income tax certificate. For the highest income bracket, no proof is required.

  • Reduced Tuition Fee for Families with Income Under €50,000

Families with a gross annual income of less than €50,000 may qualify for reduced tuition fees. This requires legally binding proof of income and financial circumstances to be submitted annually.

The monthly school fees for primary school range from €118 to €519, and for secondary school, from €118 to €698. Additionally, the administration fee is reduced to the amount of a single monthly fee.

  • Material and other costs

In addition to the stated fees, there may be additional costs for teaching and learning materials, mandatory school clothing, excursions, school trips, and any fee-based afternoon classes.

  • Do you offer scholarships?

Our scholarships recognise outstanding academic and social achievements, supporting the continued development of talented children. Each scholarship is valid for one school year and can provide up to €150 per month. This opportunity is exclusively available to students at Phorms Berlin schools who have been enrolled with us for at least one year.

  • Catering Costs

Students enjoy a varied and nutritious lunch provided by our caterer 'leckerlogisch'. Lunch registration is required, and costs are covered by the Berlin Senate. Additional catering options are available for a contribution of €33.

  • Loyalty Bonus

Starting in the 6th year of enrolment, Phorms offers a loyalty discount of 10% on school fees, which increases to 20% after 10 years. Lateral entrants who join Year 7 of the grammar school qualify for the 10% loyalty bonus from their 4th year onwards, beginning in Year 11.

  • Sibling Discount

If you register more than one child, you will benefit from our sibling discount.

The full monthly school fee applies to the eldest child. The second eldest receives a 25% discount, the third eldest enjoys a 50% reduction, and the fourth and all subsequent children benefit from a 75% discount on school fees.

  • Tax deductibility

In Germany, under certain conditions, parental contributions and support association fees may be deductible as childcare expenses on your tax return. According to Section 10 (1) No. 5 EStG, up to two-thirds of childcare-related expenses—up to a maximum of €4,800 per child—can be deducted, provided the child lives in the taxpayer's household.

Please note that expenses for lessons, private tutoring, sports, or other leisure activities are not tax-deductible. For detailed advice on your individual situation, we recommend consulting your tax advisor.

We are happy to help you.
