Our bilingual Kindergarten
Discovering the world together

At PhorMinis, your child will explore the world through play, imagination, and discovery. Our warm and caring team of native-speaking educators provides individual support and guidance throughout the day. From our nurturing crèche for the youngest children to our focused pre-school programme, we help your child grow with confidence and joy—well prepared for a successful start in primary school.

You are never too small to be great.

True to our motto, children at PhorMinis are encouraged to be exactly who they are. We’re here to accompany your child on their journey to becoming their best self—supporting them with care, empathy, and expertise. In our bilingual kindergarten, we offer individualised guidance in both German and English through the immersive language method. Our greatest joy is seeing children thrive—and above all, feeling happy and excited to come to kindergarten each day.

Why parents choose our bilingual Kindergarten

1

Bilingualism through the immersion method

Your child will naturally and intuitively learn both German and English, as our experienced educators communicate exclusively in their native language. This makes becoming bilingual effortless and enjoyable.

2

All-day care

With the day starting at 7:30 and pick-up available until 18:00, we ensure flexible and reliable all-day care for you and your child.

3

High carer-to-child ratio

Thanks to our higher staff-to-child ratio, we can meet the needs of each individual child and build a close, trusting relationship.

4

Mixed-age groups

In age-appropriate groups, we ensure that your child receives exactly the support they need at their stage of development. This allows us to tailor our educational activities to your child's needs.

5

Active parent partnership

Through the "Kindy" app, regular parents' evenings and personal development meetings, we enable a close exchange and open communication between parents and eduactors.

6

Healthy diet

Our catering partner "leckerlogisch." provides our kindergarten with varied, organic and, above all, delicious meals. Allergies, intolerances, religious concerns and sustainability are taken into account. The meals include breakfast, lunch, afternoon snacks as well as water and tea.

Key focuses of our childcare

Our approach is rooted in our bilingual concept, the Berlin Education Plan, and strong collaboration with you as parents.

Bilingualism

Bilingualism through the immersion method

The immersion method is based on immersing children in an environment where both German and English are used in everyday situations. In our bilingual Phorms Kindergarten, this happens naturally as part of the daily routine. Your child gains more than just a head start in language and education; they begin to develop a global perspective.

Bilingualism

Linguistic adaptability

Children at PhorMinis learn both languages intuitively; the same way they’ve begun to learn their mother tongue. They quickly adapt to different language environments, and we support the spoken language with actions, gestures, and facial expressions to make the process smooth and natural.

Bilingualism

Early language comprehension

Through early immersion, children develop a deeper understanding of both languages. They not only learn vocabulary and grammar but also cultural nuances.

Bilingualism

Enhanced cognitive abilities

Studies show that children who learn two languages early on are often more cognitively flexible and develop better problem-solving skills.

Bilingualism

Cultural openess

Immersion encourages children to appreciate and understand different cultures, as they immerse themselves in these worlds through the acquisition of language.

Federal program

Certified “House of Little Scientists”

Our kindergarten is proud to be certified as a “House of Little Scientists”. Here, children are encouraged to explore the world around them through play and discovery. In exciting hands-on projects, we create an inspiring environment where curiosity is welcomed, questions are encouraged, and each child’s unique talents can unfold. We place a special emphasis on STEM subjects—science, technology, engineering, and mathematics—as well as on education for sustainable development (ESD).

Educational partnership

Educational partnership between the kindergarten and parents

A strong partnership between parents and educators is crucial for each child’s development. It connects family and school, allows for open dialogue regarding the child’s progress and challenges, and promotes a clearer understanding of the child’s needs. Parent-educator meetings, newsletters, and our information board for daily activities round off the communication. This partnership strengthens the trust and bond between parents, educators and the children, and significantly contributes to the children’s positive development

Important questions
about PhorMinis Berlin Süd

  • What kind of meals are provided?

Our meals are balanced, regional and certified organic. The trained chefs from our caterer 'leckerlogisch.' prepare the meals fresh every day in the school kitchen. Meal planning is based on the quality standards of the German Nutrition Society. Low-calorie drinks (e.g. tea and water) are available to the children throughout the day. We do not eat pork at all. As we value community, the children eat together with the educational staff. We experience the eating situation as a communal togetherness. Every meal in our kindergarten offers sensory experience, enjoyment, exchange, ritual, rhythm and education in equal measure, so every meal is also a learning opportunity to develop a healthy eating culture.

  • Can my child get to know the reception (preschool) beforehand?

Every child goes through an introductory day with us. This allows us to experience your child in everyday life at the kindergarten and learn more about their basic abilities and skills as well as their language skills. Your child takes part in age-appropriate activities, tries out small tasks and plays with other children of the same age.

  • Do I need a daycare voucher (Kita-Gutschein) from the city of Berlin?

Yes, admission is not possible without a daycare voucher (Kita-Voucher) from the City of Berlin.

We are happy to help you.

Do you have questions about our kindergarten or the registration process? We will be delighted to assist you with any queries.
