Registration and Costs
for our bilingual Kindergarten and Reception

  • Application for a daycare voucher (Kita-Gutschein)

In Berlin, a daycare voucher (Kita-Gutschein) covers part of the basic costs for kindergarten and reception. This voucher is a mandatory requirement for enrolling your child at Phorms.

To ensure a smooth process, please apply for the voucher at least two months before your child’s planned start date at your local district office (Bezirksamt).

  • Review process by the district office

The district office will assess your application based on your childcare needs, parental employment status, your child's age and any special family circumstances.

You will then receive your day care voucher from the City of Berlin, detailing the allocated care hours and the validity period.

  • Parental Contribution via the Friends’ Association

In order to guarantee the bilingual concept and the increased childcare ratio in our kindergarten and preschool, we have set up a support association to which parents make a monthly contribution. This contribution, in combination with a lump sum for meals and the parents' share of the daycare voucher, determines your monthly costs. To ensure that as many children as possible have access to our educational program and to make it easier for all parents to become members of the association, the parental contribution is based on income - up to €20,000 : €135, from €50,000 : €212, from €75,000 : €246, from €100,000 : €275 and from €130,000 : €349.

  • Tax deductibility

In Germany, under certain conditions, parental contributions and support association fees may be deductible as childcare expenses on your tax return. According to Section 10 (1) No. 5 EStG, up to two-thirds of childcare-related expenses—up to a maximum of €4,800 per child—can be deducted, provided the child lives in the taxpayer's household.

Please note that expenses for lessons, private tutoring, sports, or other leisure activities are not tax-deductible. For detailed advice on your individual situation, we recommend consulting your tax advisor.

  • Sibling Discount

If you register more than one child, you will benefit from our sibling discount.

The full monthly school fee applies to the eldest child. The second eldest receives a 25% discount, the third eldest enjoys a 50% reduction, and the fourth and all subsequent children benefit from a 75% discount on school fees.

We are happy to help you.

Do you have questions about our kindergarten or the registration process? We will be delighted to assist you with any queries.
