Welcome to Phorms—the private German-English kindergarten and school located in the heart of Steglitz-Zehlendorf. From the very beginning through graduation, we accompany your child along their individual path, empowering them to become open-minded architects of their educational journey. Our emphasis on STEM, our recognition as a "House of Little Researchers," and our dedication to cultivating essential future skills foster curiosity, the joy of discovery, and a passion for lifelong learning.
where children and young people feel safe and supported."

This year, Phorms Campus Berlin Süd was delighted to take part for the first time in the Berlin annual Climate Conference — an inspiring event bringing together primary and secondary students from across Berlin.
Our students had the opportunity to attend thought-provoking lectures from a range of guest speakers, including local politicians who engaged directly with the students to discuss current environmental challenges and possible solutions. Throughout the day, they participated in a variety of hands-on environmental workshops and met with organisations from across the city dedicated to promoting environmental awareness and sustainable living.
It was a motivating and empowering experience for our learners, strengthening their understanding of climate issues and encouraging them to play an active role in shaping a more sustainable future.
We are proud to introduce our new Eco Council — a group of enthusiastic students from across the school who have come together to help guide us toward becoming a more sustainable community. Their mission is to lead positive change, raise awareness, and inspire everyone to take action.
This year, the Eco Council will focus on two key areas: reducing waste and promoting biodiversity. They will work on practical projects to cut down on rubbish, encourage recycling and re-use, and help the school make greener choices every day. At the same time, they will develop initiatives to support local wildlife, protect natural spaces, and make our school grounds more vibrant and biodiverse.
With their ideas, energy, and dedication, the Eco Council will play an important role in shaping a greener future for our school.
We have established an Eco Code, which reflects our collective commitment to sustainability. It strengthens our ecological awareness and maps out our green path as a campus. The Eco Code is our joint contribution to a more sustainable future.
Students in JG7 recently took part in a hands-on project focused on biodiversity by designing and creating their own bird feeders. This activity encouraged them to think about the importance of supporting local wildlife and understanding ecosystems in a practical way. Through creativity, teamwork, and environmental awareness, the students produced a variety of unique feeders that can help provide food for birds, especially during more challenging seasons. The project not only strengthened their appreciation for nature but also highlighted how small actions can make a positive difference in protecting biodiversity.
Students in JG8 have also taken part in a creative biodiversity project by designing and building insect hotels. This hands-on activity helped them explore the important role that insects play in our ecosystems, particularly as pollinators and as part of the food chain. Using a variety of natural and recycled materials, the students constructed shelters that provide safe habitats for insects.
Through this project, students developed both practical skills and a deeper appreciation for the small but vital creatures that support biodiversity. The insect hotels will be placed around the school grounds, where they will contribute to a healthier environment and offer opportunities for ongoing observation and learning.
Students in JG8 have recently completed an exciting hands-on project by designing and building their own greenhouse. This initiative provided a valuable opportunity to explore sustainability, plant science, and the importance of controlled growing environments. Working collaboratively, the students developed practical skills while gaining a deeper understanding of how plants grow and how we can support them.
We now look forward to continuing and developing this project, as different class groups begin to use the greenhouse to grow a variety of plants and vegetables. This ongoing work will allow students to take responsibility for their own crops, observe growth over time, and further strengthen their connection to nature and sustainable practices.
To ensure effective and personalised learning, we maintain a balanced class size. For example, there are currently 24 children per class in the secondary school.
We are proud of our diverse English-speaking community. Our native-speaking teaching staff come from every English-speaking country in the world.
Yes, we have a clothing collection. Primary school students are obliged to choose tops and sportswear from this collection.
