History
Berlin’s second largest landmarked grounds exudes history! It is no wonder that this has been the setting for numerous international films, such as Berlin Airlift, The Bourne Supremacy, and Baltic Storm.
The main building, constructed between 1937 and 1940, was used by Telefunken-Werke to develop thousands of patents in different areas, including one for colour television. After 1945, the American Berlin Brigade used the former factory grounds as their new Headquarters and casern, renaming the complex into McNair Barracks after an American Lieutenant General.
Only in 1994, after the farewell of the Berlin Brigade through Bill Clinton and Helmut Kohl, did the grounds transfer back into the possession of the city of Berlin. Since then, several buildings have been privatised and renovated, and the area has been renamed “Monroe-Park.” This also marked the beginning of our Phorms Campus Berlin Süd.
The spacious school building was fully renovated in 2009 and is situated in a quiet residential area. Our students can enjoy the outdoors, including a football field and playground right next to the school building. We are very close to Grunewald and Heinrich-Laehr Park which allows for regular excursions into nature and provides our students with the possibility to explore their surroundings.
On Phorms Campus Berlin Süd, Berlin’s history unites with nature and modern school equipment to provide an ideal learning environment for our Phorms children and students.
