Social Day 7a

Date:
On December 3rd was social day, and everyone did something different. Class 7A cleaned the “Stolpersteine“. We learned a lot about Jewish history and visited fascinating places. First, we all met in Berlin Mitte, and went to a hospital for the blind, and we found out that there was a room with another room in it and that Jewish people hid there. Next, we started cleaning the Stolpersteine, and there were a lot of different notes on them. Some people died because of suicide, some got murdered and there were even people were the cause of death was unknown. For the class, the unknown were the most interesting because we wanted to know what happened.  We passed a church and everyone wanted to take a photo because it looked so amazing. We visited a graveyard that was one of the oldest in Berlin, and the teachers told us that when Jewish people die they don’t put flowers on their grave, but rocks. Together we went to a school for Hebrew, and the police were also there so that the school wouldn’t get attacked. It was a really old school and it looked way different than schools nowadays, but that makes the school so interesting. We continued cleaning, but when we were finished we made our way to a pizzeria. The pizza was so delicious and it was so much fun to go and eat with the whole class pizza. Last but not least we went to the S-Bahnhof but right in front of it was a woman who made soap bubbles. We looked at the bubbles and made photos and videos. Then we all left. It was a great experience, especially that we could learn something about Jewish history and clean the Stolpersteine.
