Cross Country Success

Date:
A group of students from Phorms Berlin Sud headed to the Steglitz-Zehlendorfer Schools Cross-Country championships this week where they had some excellent results.
All pupils ran over the hilly 3km route on a sunny morning at Langes Luch. The event was filled with school pupils from all over the district competing to make the All Berlin Finals later in the academic year.
The best performance of the day came from Shirin Schiller who won the Y7 girls run. In a dominant display of front running Shirin powered away at the start line and never let her tempo drop. She emerged from the wooded forest ahead of the chasing pack and sprinted down the finishing straight to secure the win and her place at the All Berlin Final.
The best boys performance came from Year 9 student P.E. who battled his way from the back of the starting pack to finish within the top 30 boys in his age group. Julian Kaldung, L.R. and Lion Schumann also completed the race.
Pauline Beckmann and C.M. put in brave performances in the Y9 girls race to complete the Phorms Sud representation at these championships. Congratulations to all pupil’s taking part in the event and good luck to Shirin in the All Berlin Finals later in the year.
